Coastal Skin and Eye Institute accepts most major health insurance plans, but it is the patient’s responsibility to call the health plan and verify that Coastal Skin and Eye Institute is an in-network provider for your particular plan. Even if your insurance is listed below, it may not cover all of our services. Coastal Skin and Eye Institute accepts most major PPO plans. We are not contracted with any HMO or Sharp/Kaiser insurance plans. Accepted PPO plans, but not limited to:
Anthem Blue Cross – PPO, Anthem Medicare Advantage Plan PPO
- No Covered California Plans, Mirrored plans of Covered California, HMO, TONIK, Select PPO and Scripps
Aetna – POS Plans, Aetna Medicare Advantage Plan PPO
Blue Shield – PPO
- No Covered California Plans, Mirrored plans of Covered California, Tandem PPO plans
Cigna – PPO, Multi-Plan PPO
- No Oscar Covered California Plans
- Kira Tellache, PA-C is not in network with Cigna Multi-Plan PPO
First Health – PPO

- No Covered California Plans

Medicare Part B (no HMO’s as a secondary insurance)
- We will bill Medi-caid, Molina Healthcare, and Community Health Group if you have this as a secondary insurance to Medicare (cannot be an HMO plan)
Tricare – Tricare Select, Tricare Standard, and Tricare West
- No Tricare Prime
- Dr. Derek Nickerson not in network with Tricare Select and Tricare West
Veterans Affairs (VA plans)
- Must have authorization sent from the VA before scheduling an appointment. Your primary care physician initiates the authorization.
- Only Dr. Christopher Crosby and Dr. Shinko Lin are in network
