Dr. Ambur was born and raised in Pierre, South Dakota. He attended college at South Dakota State University where he earned a B.S. in Psychology. He then moved to San Diego prior to medical school where he was captivated by the dynamic atmosphere and diverse culture. The city’s unique blend of opportunity and community deeply resonated with him, shaping his career aspirations.
Dr. Ambur attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine in Kansas City, MO. He then moved to Cincinnati, OH where he completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Mercy Health-The Jewish Hospital. He went on to complete his dermatology residency at Kansas City University-GME Consortium/Advanced Dermatology in Orlando, FL where he served as Chief Resident.
With a profound passion for academia, Dr. Ambur has become a prolific researcher and writer, contributing significantly to the dermatology literature through multiple case reports, review articles, and research publications in esteemed journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Journal of the American Medical Association. His dedication extends to serving as a peer-reviewer for various renowned publications, exemplifying his commitment to advancing the field.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Ambur is an avid outdoors enthusiast, and enjoys spending his free time trail running, surfing, dirt biking, hunting, and fishing.
